First let me apologize for not writing. This past few weeks have been very busy.
How many of us take the time to reflect? Human self-reflection is the capacity of humans to exercise introspection and the willingness to learn more about their fundamental nature, purpose and essence. Human self-reflection is related to the philosophy of consciousness, the topic of awareness, consciousness in general and the philosophy of mind.
Reflection is a philosophical action. According to the Kant Dictionary, “Reflection is one of three “logical acts of the understanding by which concepts are generated as to their form”, the other two being comparison and abstraction. Reflection is defined as “the going back over [of] different presentations, how they can be comprehended in one consciousness.” Reflection, comparison, and abstraction are “essential and general conditions of generating any concept whatever”.
When you take time to reflect you will increase your awareness of your surroundings, your perspective shifts, you learn about yourself because you become in touch with your own emotions, and it will allow you to make better decisions. And the best instrument to help you reflect is a pen and paper. I know it sounds antiquated but it is true. Or you can use an electronic journal on phone or tablet but anything that allows you to put your thoughts, emotions, projects down is great for reflection.
So try it and tell me if this is true or not. I love to hear from you.
