I have not written in while and my apologies for that. I have been really busy with other projects and now I have been entrusted with the task of teaching Chaplains. This is why this topic. I will begin a series called,”War – internal & external”
How often are we confronted with decisions that can alter the course of our lives?
We are in a constant battle with ourselves and many times those battles are lost. We fight to keep our sanity. We fight to keep fear away. We fight to keep anxiety at hand but when you look back, you see a lot of casualties left behind.
In the physical world there are medicines that sometimes give us the edge but alter something else within us. We meet with trained professionals to talk about how we feel and what we seem to be going through and this allows, for a moment, a release of tension and stress but only for a brief moment since we pick it up again. There are groups formed to help one cope with these types of issues but none of these things are a permanent fix.
But I have experienced a more suitable solution, Christ. Many will challenge my point of view but as one who lives with a person with bad anxiety attacks, I can blindly say Christ was the answer. There were many things other than anxiety that my wife is going through. [ special note ] I am in no measure against the medical profession [end of note]
First let’s be honest and most of our stressful state we have brought it onto ourselves. We purchase more than we can afford. We get into debt like money grows on trees and we are never satisfied with what we have. Now that this is out of the way, let’s see what the bible says about many of the stresses, trials, tribulations, or other discords that we go through on a daily basis.
First of all in Ephesians 6 talks about that our continued fight is not with flesh and blood. Although we fight among each other for possessions. It says, “Our fight is not against people on earth but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world. Eph 6:12″ So if these are the battles we are facing, how are we supposed to protect ourselves? When did this war begin? Do you believe that a victory is even possible? Or do you just say it isn’t true and that this is just a way of getting people to believe in a God, superior being, or something like that?
