Do You have Faith?

You don’t have to be a Christian or a believer of any religious group to have faith.  We show faith in many ways.  When we walk, eat, drink, drive, sleep, etc.  these things so a certain faith that we will awake after sleeping, not fall when we take a step, not choke when we swallow food or liquids, and not crash when we move several pounds of metal or plastic from one place to another.

But the faith I want to talk about today is the one that believes in things unseen, the Christian faith.

faith-trust-fall-saul-jonathan-works We believe in a God that is unseen to the naked eye but we know He exists because of the transformation He has caused in our lives. In Hebrew 11:1 says, “Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.

When we pray and the prayer goes unanswered or things just get worse, what do you do?  It is one thing to say  you believe, and another to act on what you believe as though it is already true or has already happened.  This is what separates a person of faith from a person who says they have faith.  This type of faith refuses to quit or let go of the promises of God’s Word.  God’s Word talks about us being more than conquerors in Romans 8:37 but in order for us to be overcomers there has to be something to overcome.  If life was without obstacles, what would we overcome?  To get through this life there are going to be times when you will need a strong and unrelenting faith. God has already given us the victory, we just need to believe it and act as though it has come to pass in our lives.

Here is what God’s Word says about why we go through some difficult times.  In 1 Peter 1:3-7 it says, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In God’s great mercy he has caused us to be born again into a living hope, because Jesus Christ rose from the dead.  Now we hope for the blessings God has for his children. These blessings, which cannot be destroyed or be spoiled or lose their beauty, are kept in heaven for you. God’s power protects you through your faith until salvation is shown to you at the end of time. This makes you very happy, even though now for a short time different kinds of troubles may make you sad. These troubles come to prove that your faith is pure. This purity of faith is worth more than gold, which can be proved to be pure by fire but will ruin. But the purity of your faith will bring you praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is shown to you.”  Here He is telling us that many of the trials and situations we go through are test our faith and make it stronger.  In Romans 5:3-5 says it this way,”We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience.  And patience produces character, and character produces hope. And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us.

I can personally attest to this. I have been going through some situations but there is an unexplainable peace about it because I know God has everything under control.

Have a blessed day.
